My hope is that you start a new tradition of sharing a poem every night with your family.  This book is filled with whimsical, funny, and warm poems and even includes a section of poems that tell how Christmas is celebrated around the world.  You can even learn to say Merry Christmas in several languages with my hope that we gain an understanding that we're not all that far apart.  I hope this is a tradition you keep not only through Christmas you enjoy additional poetry all year as a time to bring your family together.
 
Waiting For Santa
 
Comfortable in my mother’s embrace,
Excitement dances on my face,
For in my heart, a joyous clause,
Anticipation blooms for Santa Claus.
 
Whispers and giggles fill the air,
Eyes sparkling with a hopeful flair,
Each little heart in fervent pause,
Longing for the footsteps of Santa Claus.
 
The stockings hung, the cookies laid,
In chimney's path, where dreams are laid,
A radiant hope, a magical cause,
In the fervent wait for Santa Claus.
 
With every passing minute and hour,
Imagination blossoms like a flower,
In dreams, in tales, in mythical laws,
They await the arrival of Santa Claus.
 
The rustle of reindeer, the sleigh's soft jingle,
In tiny ears, a delightful tingle,
The belief, the magic, without a pause,
In the imminent arrival of Santa Claus.
 
The clock strikes midnight, the world's asleep,
But in their hearts, the excitement's deep,
For in this moment, without a pause,
They dream of the enchanting Santa Claus.
 
In whispered wishes, a lullaby's tune,
In the hope that arises with the moon,
Their innocent hearts in joyful applause,
Await the cherished visit of Santa Claus.
 
So in this anticipation's thrill,
In dreams that dance, in hearts that fill,
The purest joy, without a pause,
Awaits the cherished visit of Santa Claus.
